         UNITED CARRIERS: COMMENT ON SHARE PRICE MOVEMENT

The Board of United Carriers Group PLC has noted the recent rise
in the company's share price.  The Board has received an approach
regarding a possible merger.  The terms of this approach could not
be recommended to shareholders.  The Board is exploring whether
these terms may be improved and a further announcement will be
made in due course.
