Drings of Bath PLC (the Company) announces that it today exercised the Call
Option with Mr Peter Carroll (announced on 22nd August 1997) resulting in Mr
Carroll being required to exchange his 400 shares in Capital Masonry Company
Limited for 8,543,200 new Ordinary Shares in the Company which shares have a
mid-market value today of #256,296.

Prior to the exercise of the Option by the Company, the Company owned 60% of
the share capital of Capital Masonry Company Limited and Mr Carroll owned the
remaining 40%.  Mr Carroll is a related party.  As a result of the exercise of
the Call Option, the Company owns 100% of the issued share capital of Capital
Masonry Company Limited and Mr Carroll owns 10.02% of the issued share capital
of the Company.  The business activity of Capital Masonry Company Limited is
the production and sale of cut and crafted dimensional stone primarily for the
construction industry which compliments the Company s existing business and
the transaction is expected to enhance the Company s earnings.  Capital
Masonry Company Limited has not produced published annual accounts since
incorporation.

The Directors of the Company are of the opinion that, having consulted with
the Company s Nominated Adviser, Neill Clerk Capital Limited (the latter
commented that when assessing the transaction they were required to rely on
forecasts prepared by the Company which forecasts have not been independently
reviewed by either Neill Clerk Capital Limited or a third party, but under the
circumstances and on the basis of the options now available to the Company the
transaction appears fair and reasonable) the terms of the transaction are fair
and reasonable so far as the Company s shareholders are concerned.  

An application for the admission of the 8,543,200 Ordinary Shares to trading
on AIM will be made in due course.
