Digital Barriers plc

("Digital Barriers")

Contract awards

The Board of Digital Barriers plc (AIM: DGB, the "Group") (the "Board"), the specialist provider of advanced surveillance technologies to the security and defence sectors, is pleased to announce the award of a development contract by a major US government agency, a new customer for the Group. Valued at approximately GBP400,000, the contract is to support the Group's ongoing development of world-class video surveillance products based on its TVI technology, one of the Group's core strategic technologies. The on-going development will include a new range of products designed to meet the specific needs of the law enforcement sector. The contract is expected to be fulfilled this calendar year, after which the Group expects significant product sales across multiple US and international law enforcement agencies resulting from this next phase of development.

Digital Barriers plc is also pleased to announce two important contract awards for products based on its ThruVision passive screening technology, also one of the Group's core strategic technologies. The first, by an existing US customer, is valued at approximately GBP300,000 and will be fulfilled this financial year; it is for the standoff detection of person-borne explosive devices, and should lead to further sales nextyear. The second, with a new UK-based partner working in specialist sectors in the Middle East, isfor the protection of high-profile overseas government locations; it is valuedat approximately GBP350,000 and will also be fulfilled this financial year with further sales expected next year.

Colin Evans, Managing Director of Digital Barriers commented:

"These are three highly significant contracts for Digital Barriers as we continue to market our world-class technologies into key international markets, including the United States, by far the largest defence and security market in the world.

The TVI development contract is very important for Digital Barriers. Not only is this a new flagship customer for the Group, but it also means that a major US government agency has selected TVI as their platform of choice for its next generation video surveillance capabilities, further confirming its status as a world-class technology. Once development has been completed, we will have a range of new advanced video surveillance products that we can take to multiple customers in the US and around the world.

The two ThruVisioncontracts, both of which should open up significant follow-on opportunities, illustrate how this technology is being increasingly recognised as a genuinely disruptive capability in the detection of explosives, weapons and smuggled contraband. The detection of person-borne IEDs and concealed weapons is an important and valuable application of the technology, and we are extremely pleased that ThruVision can help our customers address such threats.

The contracts demonstrate the strong progress that the Group continues to make in key international markets."
