NOTICE OF INTENTION TO REQUEST VOLUNTARY CANCELLATION OF THE LISTING OF ITS ORDINARY SHARES ON THE LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE

In accordance with Listing Rule 5.2.8, the Company hereby gives notice of its intention to request the UK Financial Conduct Authority (the "FCA") to cancel the standard listing of the Company's ordinary shares (with ISIN ES0178430E18) (the "Shares") on the Official List of the FCA and to request the London Stock Exchange to cancel the admission to trading of the Shares on the main market for listed securities of the London Stock Exchange (together, the "Cancellation of London Listing").

Telefónica has decided to request the Cancellation of London Listing as the low volume of trading of the Shares on the London Stock Exchange does not justify the costs related to such listing and admission to trading.

Pursuant to Listing Rule 5.2.8, the Company is required to give at least 20 business days' notice of the intended Cancellation of Listing. Therefore, it is intended that the Cancellation of London Listing will become effective from 8.00 a.m. (London time) on 16 May 2019, such that the last day of trading of the Shares on the London Stock Exchange would be 15 May 2019.

Following the Cancellation of the London Listing, the Shares will continue to be admitted to trading on the Madrid Stock Exchange, among other markets.
