                 Notification of Directors Shareholders

The Board of Ted Baker PLC was today notified that Lindsay Page, Finance
Director,  had purchased 8,333 ordinary 5p shares on 29 July 1998, 5,000
at  152p and 3,333 at 150p, in total representing 0.02 per cent. of  the
Company's  issued  share capital.  Following these purchases  his  total
beneficial  holding  has  increased to 228,673  ordinary  shares,  which
include 15,000 shares held as both a trustee and beneficiary.

The  increased holding represents 0.55 per cent. of the Company's issued
share capital.
