LONDON--Speedy Hire PLC (SDY.LN) Monday appointed Adrian Murphy
as chief operating officer of its core U.K. division, as it made
several new appointments in line with its strategy to grow through
core appointments and a focus on across large customers.
Mr. Murphy previously worked as commercial director of the U.K.,
Ireland and Benelux region for United Technologies Corp.'s (UTX)
building industrial systems division.
The equipment rental company also hired Tony Bennett as
corporate development officer, with responsibility for strategy,
planning, corporate activity, corporate communications and social
responsibility. Mr. Bennett formerly worked at Office Depot Inc.
(ODP) and the Rentokil Initial Group (RTO.LN).
Shares at 0748 GMT are trading slightly lower at 54 pence.
