             Parkwood Holdings plc ("Parkwood" or the "Company")



Parkwood announces that it has today dispatched a circular to its shareholders
seeking a general authority to purchase up to 3,210,000 Ordinary Shares,
representing 14.99 per cent. of the Company's issued share capital.

An extraordinary general meeting of the Company at which the necessary
resolution will be proposed has been convened to be held at Parkwood House,
Cuerden Park, Berkeley Drive, Bamber Bridge, Preston on Monday 29th January
2001 at 11.00 a.m.
