("Luminar" or the "Company")

Purchase of shares by the Luminar plc Employee Trust and making of a one-off
award to Nick Beighton over 47,900 shares.

The board of Luminar announces that the Luminar plc Employee Trust (whose
trustee is Evered Employee Benefit Trustees Limited) has on 16 March 2007
notified it that on 15 March 2007 it acquired 47,900 ordinary shares of 25p each
in the Company (0.069% of the issued share capital) at a cost of 742.4p per
share.

The Luminar plc Employee Trust now owns 47,900 ordinary shares in the Company of
25p each (0.069% of the issued share capital) as well as warrants over 1,620,129
ordinary shares in the Company of 25 pence each (39.7% of the total number of
outstanding warrants).



It is intended that these shares will be used to satisfy an award that has been
made by Evered Employee Benefit Trustees Limited in its capacity as trustee of
the Luminar plc Employee Trust to Nick Beighton, Finance Director, over 47,900
ordinary shares of 25 pence each.



50% of the shares under award will vest on 31st July 2007 and the balance on
31st July 2008, provided that he is employed by Luminar on the relevant vesting
date.  There are no performance conditions attached to the award and the shares
may be received free of charge.

All of the employees of Luminar plc and its subsidiaries, including the
Executive Directors and persons discharging managerial responsibility, are
potential beneficiaries of the Luminar plc Employee Trust. The Executive
Directors and persons exercising managerial responsibility over Luminar plc are
therefore deemed to have an interest in all the ordinary shares in the Company
and warrants over such shares held by the Luminar plc Employee Trust.

Nick Beighton currently has a notional interest in 22,239 ordinary shares of 25
pence as a result of an award made to him pursuant to a Deferred Bonus Plan
approved by Shareholders in March 2004.
