Jupiter Second Split Trust PLC ('the Company') has received notification today
from Mr H D Hill, a director of the Company, that he had purchased 55,000 Geared
Growth shares in the Company on 27th September 2005 at 45.5p per share.

Following this purchase he is now interested in a total of 114,013 Geared Growth
Shares and 11,749 Zero Dividend Preference Shares in the Company, representing
0.07% of the total voting rights in the Company.

There are 94,905,683 Geared Growth shares and 94,905,683 Zero Dividend
Preference shares in issue. On a poll each Geared Growth share carries one vote
and each Zero Dividend Preference share carries one vote. The Packaged Units
consist of one Geared Growth share and one Zero Dividend Preference share.
