DONG MAO HUO GOLD PROJECT
THIRD BATCH DRILL RESULTS
LONDON - 8 July 2008 - Central China Goldfields plc (AIM: GGG) is pleased to
announce the third batch of results from 12 additional holes completed in the
May-June 2008 reverse circulation ("RC") drilling programme at the Dong Mao Huo
gold project in the Nei Menggu Autonomous Region of Northern China.
Highlights:
* Results further confirm the presence of significant gold mineralisation at
1 gramme per tonne gold ("g/t Au")) in 7 out of 12 holes.
* Hole RC43A intersected 3 metres of 29.31 g/t gold from 57 metres down hole,
including 84 g/t gold over 1 metre;
* Hole RC43A additionally intersected 11 metres of 1.43 g/t gold from 33
metres down hole and 4 metres of 2.12 g/t gold from 72 metres down hole;
* Hole RC41 intersected 6 metres of 3.25 g/t gold from 109 metres down hole,
including 8.16 g/t gold over 1 metre;
* Hole RC39 intersected 2 metres of 8.95 g/t gold from 112 metres down hole,
including 17.1 g/t gold over 1 metre;
* Hole RC37 intersected 5 metres of 3.15 g/ t gold from 44 metres down hole,
including 6.03 g/t gold over 2 metres.
* Hole RC34 intersected 5 metres of 1.47 g/t gold from 29 metres down hole,
including 4.78 g/t gold over 1 metre.
* Preliminary metallurgical testing is due to commence on both the gold oxide
and sulphide ores.
* To date, assay results from 24 out of 35 holes have validated the presence
of significant gold mineralisation (above 1 g/t gold). Assay results are
still pending for the last 15 holes.
Jeff Malaihollo, Managing Director of Central China Goldfields, comments:
"We are delighted with the progress being made at Dong Mao Huo where this
latest set of drill hole results yet again confirms the presence of high grade
pods against a broader backdrop of wide but lower grade gold mineralisation.
Hole RC43A is the third of such high grade pods we have encountered and the
fourth one identified so far.
This round of RC drilling has been very successful in delineating the Dong Mao
Huo ore body. Up to now we have had around a 70% success rate in hitting gold
intersections of above 1 g/t.
Given the progress at Dong Mao Huo to date, Central China is due to commence
initial metallurgical testing on both gold oxide and sulphide ores with the
objective of moving ahead to pilot bulk sampling."

Drilling Results Details:
A reverse circulation ("RC") drill programme was undertaken by Beijing Kente
Drilling Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of the Drillcorp Group from 4 May to 15 June
2008. The aim is to assist mine planning by infilling the drill grid from 80 x
80 metres to about 40 x 40 metres. The drilling also confirmed that the trend
of gold mineralisation is generally northerly which is transverse to the
east-west trend of the host rhyodacite breccia. The programme consisted of 50
holes totaling 5,328 metres. To date, the total drilling is 7,129 metres of RC
and 3,294.60 metres of core, or a grand total of 10,423.60 metres.
The gold mineralisation at Dong Mao Huo is associated with a 800m long x 120m
wide east-west trending structurally emplaced rhyodacite breccia/dyke in an
orthogneiss and schist complex. The gold-base metal mineralisation is generally
associated with northerly trending structures characterised by hydraulic
emplacement of sulphides along fractures and zones of hydrothermal breccias.
The ore minerals are pyrite and chalcopyrite with minor to trace amounts of
sphalerite, chalcocite, galena and arsenopyrite as disseminations, fracture and
breccia fills. Deep weathering has oxidised the mineralised zone down to about
35 - 50 metres.
A third batch of gold assay results from 14 additional holes (RC23A to RC30A)
has been received from the drill programme. The first batch of results from 9
holes was released last 18 June 2008 and the second batch on 14 holes last 30
June 2008.
At about 0.35 g/t Au cut-off, the assay results of the RC holes are outlined in
Table 1.

*No significant mineralisation in holes RC38, RC40 and RC 42. Silver and Copper
grade are not yet available.
At about 0.35 g/t Au cut-off, the best results are: hole RC43A intersected 11
metres of 1.43 g/t Au from 33 metres, and 3 metres of 29.31 g/t Au from 57
metres, including 84 g/t Au over 1 metre; hole RC41 intersected 6 metres of
3.25 g/t Au from 109 metres, including 8.16 g/t Au over 1 metre; hole RC39
intersected 2 metres of 8.95 g/t Au from 112 metres, including 17.1 g/t Au over
1 metre; hole RC37 intersected 5 metres of 3.15 g/ t Au from 44 metres,
including 6.03 g/t Au over 2 metres; and lastly hole RC34 intersected 5 metres
of 1.47 g/t Au from 29 metres, including 4.78 g/t Au over 1 metre.
North-directed holes RC33 to RC36, located at the southeastern part of West
Hill, probably hit the fringes of northerly trending mineralised structures as
indicated by wide (20 to 36 metres) intervals of anomalous 0.1-0.3 g/t Au and
only a few metres wide zones of >1 g/t Au. East-directed hole RC43 was
terminated at 42 metres as it hit an underground working. Hole RC43A was a step
out to continue hole RC43 at depth and hit significant mineralisation.
Copper ("Cu") and silver ("Ag") grades have also been received for the first 17
of the 50 drill holes programme. The results are shown in Table 2.
