SURFACE SAMPLING RESULTS
DONG MAO HUO PROJECT
LONDON - 12 March 2008 - Central China Goldfields plc (AIM: GGG) is pleased to
announce additional results from the November 2007 surface sampling program
conducted at the Dong Mao Huo gold project in the Nei Menggu province of
northern China.
Highlights:
* Surface gold and silver oxide mineralisation confirmed at West Hill on the
Main Zone
* Significant gold and silver results on the East Hill with follow up work
planned in 2008
* Bulk sampling potential being assessed for second half 2008
Jeff Malaihollo, Managing Director of Central China Goldfields, comments:
"We are now assessing the viability of bulk sampling the high grade sulphide
and opening up one of the low grade oxide gold pits for bulk testing.
This significant next step at Dong Mao Hao is being undertaken based on this
most recent channel sampling which validates the presence of oxide gold at the
surface workings at the Main Zone and the successful 2007 drilling programme,
which highlighted the presence of higher grade mineralised pods within a
broader gold mineralised envelope."

Sampling Result Details
A programme of channel rock sampling at the Main Zone was undertaken in
November 2008 focusing on the existing open pits and exposed trenches. At the
West Hill of the Main Zone, there are 3 mine pits, namely Pit No. 1, Pit No. 2
and Pit No. 3. At the East Hill, Pit No. 4 is located.
82 samples were taken of which 62 came from the four pits. At >0.4 g/t Au
average, the channel assay results are summarised below:
Table 1. Summary of channel assay results
Location at Main Zone Width (m) Gold (g/t) Silver (g/ Copper

East Hill Pit, West Wall 6 0.44 4.12 0.03
East Hill Pit, South Wall 1 0.62 6.00 0.08
At Pit No. 3, located at the western limit of West Hill, channel sampling
confirmed the presence of a total of 11 metres of mineralisation with grades of
up to 4.01 grammes/tonne gold (g/t Au). At Pit No. 2, located at the central
part of West Hill, 6 metres of 0.43 g/t Au was obtained. Within Pit No. 3,
surface and underground workings show that mineralisation is associated with a
zone of hydrothermal brecciation. The breccia matrix is strongly limonitic,
goethitic and possibly manganiferous. However surface grab samples and channel
samples indicate that gold mineralisation does exist with assays up to 7.37g/t
Au (Sample number DA129958). Visually, the rocks are also much more limonitic,
geothitic and manganese-bearing than those present in the East Hill.
At the East Hill Pit No. 4, 6 metres at 0.44 g/t Au was obtained on the west
wall. There is also some sporadic gold of >1 g/t Au which needs follow up.
The gold mineralisation at Dong Mao Huo is associated with a structurally
emplaced 800m x 120m rhyodacite breccia pipe within a diorite-granite gneiss/
schist complex. The gold mineralisation is generally low grade (~1 g/t Au) but
contains pods of higher grades when associated with narrow discontinuous zones
of hydrothermal breccias carrying base metal sulphides consisting of dominantly
copper and lesser amounts of zinc. The ore minerals are pyrite with minor to
trace amounts of chalcopyrite, sphalerite and arsenopyrite. Deep weathering has
oxidised the mineralised zone down to 60 - 80 metres thus making the oxidised
gold potentially amenable to recovery by a low cost heap leach process.
Sample Preparation and Analytical Details
Channel rock sampling was done using a portable petrol-driven diamond rock saw
and chipper creating a channel slot measuring about 12cm wide x 6cm deep every
one metre. About 3-4 kilograms of material is collected for each channel rock
sample. The samples were processed and analysed by Intertek Testing Service
Ltd. Shanghai located in Beijing. Sample preparation is total pulverisation of
the sample to 95% minus 75 microns. Gold ("Au") was analysed by 50 grammes fire
assay with AAS finish and 34 other elements by inductively coupled plasma
spectrometry ("ICP"). Besides gold, two of the 35 elements are reported here:
silver ("Ag") and copper ("Cu"). The detection limits for Au, Ag and Cu are
0.005 g/t, 0.1 parts per million ("ppm") and 1 ppm respectively. Routine
international-standard quality assurance/quality control ("QA/QC") procedures
were used by Intertek.
Technical information in the Company news releases has been reviewed and
approved by Ciceron "Jun" Angeles (MSc. FAusIMM, CPGeo) the Company's
Exploration Manager. He is qualified as a Competent Person under the Code for
the Reporting Mineral Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Mineral
Reserves, 2004 ("The Reporting Code") prepared by the Australasian Institute of
Mining and Metallurgy and the Australian Institute of Geoscientists.
