              Sale of Malmaison Hotel (Edinburgh)

Forth Ports PLC is pleased to announce that it has reached an
agreement with Arcadian International Plc for the sale of the
business and assets comprising The Malmaison Hotel (Edinburgh)
Limited.  The sale is expected to be completed on 18 March
1998.  The cash generated from the sale will be approximately
#4.9 million.

Alistair Fleming, Chief Executive of Forth Ports said:

"Although the Malmaison has been performing well, it is not
part of our core business and so the opportunity has been taken
to sell the hotel."
