Director's dealing

The Company gives notice that it received notification from Chesterton
Investment Services Ltd, the trustee to an employee benefit trust established
by the Company for the purposes of share plans for employees (including
directors), on 22 May 2000 that it had purchased 100,000 Ordinary shares at a
price of 25.00p on  18 May 2000 and 150,000 Ordinary shares at a price of
27.00p on 19 May 2000. 

The executive directors of Chesterton are to be regarded as having a technical
interest in shares held by the trust. Following this announcement the interest
of the employee benefit trust will be 5,216,593 Ordinary shares representing
6.17% of the issued share capital of the company.

No additional interests arise on the part of the directors by reason of the
purchase referred to in this announcement.
