The following replaces "Net Asset Value(s)" announcement earlier today, Friday
18 January 2008 at 14.56 under RNS Number 1124M for Charter European Trust only.

The net asset values announced should have been 247.04p and 245.91p respectively
and not 246.86p and 245.75p as previously advised.

As recommended by the AIC, financial assets are now valued on a bid price basis
in accordance with revised UK accounting standards.



Charter European Trust PLC announces that at close of business on 17 January
2008:

1)  the capital net asset value per ordinary share was 247.04p and

2)  based on the number of shares held in treasury, the net asset value per
    ordinary share was 245.91p.
