in accordance with revised UK accounting standards.

Charter Pan-European Trust plc announces that at close of business on 4 October
2006:

1)   the capital net asset value per ordinary share was 207.36p and

2)   based on the number of shares held in treasury, the net asset value per
     ordinary share was 206.55p.
