                            Pre-Close Trading Update

Chromogenex plc ("Chromogenex" or the "Company") the advanced medical and
aesthetic laser device company targeting acne, wrinkles and vascular lesions,
announces that is has made an encouraging start to the new financial year and
that it is currently trading in line with market expectations for the year
ending 31 December 2006.

The Company intends to announce its Interim Results for the six months to 30
June 2006 on Thursday 7 September 2006.
