                      Statement on share price movement                       

The Board of Atlantic Telecom Group PLC ("Atlantic") notes the recent fall in
the price of the Group's shares.  The Group knows of no reason for this and
wishes to make the following points:

* the Group's results for the six months ended 30 September 2000 will be      
  announced on Thursday 30 November in accordance with its expected timetable.
  These results will show progress in a number of important areas and will be 
  in line with market expectations.

* as at 30 September the Group's free cash balances totalled approximately    
  #200 million, with a further #36 million held in escrow to fund interest    
  payments on the Group's bonds into early 2002.

* in addition, the Group has access to undrawn vendor finance facilities of   
  approximately #100 million.

* the Group is able to focus its business plan to operate on a fully funded   
  basis within its existing cash balances and financing facilities.

Accordingly the Board of Atlantic emphasises its confidence in Atlantic's
business plan and prospects.
