                         Atlantic acquires French ISP


Atlantic Telecom Group PLC ('Atlantic') announces today it has acquired the
customer base and ISP services of ISE/Gulliver, an important Internet access
provider in South East France. The acquisition will significantly strengthen
Atlantic's Internet services to SMEs in France at a time when the Group has
launched live trials of its high-speed DSL services in Paris.


The acquisition will give Atlantic access to more than 500 SME customers,
mainly based in Marseilles, who currently use ISE/Gulliver's web hosting and
added-value services. Atlantic will shortly launch live DSL trials in
Marseilles, which will be the last phase of DSL technical and operational
testing in France before the French Government announces the legal
availability of DSL in January 2001.


Graham J Duncan, Executive Chairman of Atlantic, commented:

ISP services will benefit us greatly as we continue to strengthen our foothold
in France following the roll out of French DSL services next year."
