Computerworld as a Premier 100 IT Leader
Executive Honored for His Leadership in Technology and
Commitment to Innovation
SAN MATEO, CA--(Marketwired - Dec 9, 2013) - NTT Innovation
Institute, Inc. (NTT i3), a wholly owned subsidiary of Nippon
Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (TOKYO: 9432) (NYSE: NTT), the
world's largest global IT and telecommunications services holding
company, today announced that President & CEO, Srini Koushik,
was selected by IDG's Computerworld as a 2014 Premier 100 IT Leader
honoree. The Premier 100 spotlights leaders from both the
technology and business sides of companies for their exceptional
technology leadership and innovative approaches to business
challenges. Koushik will be honored at The Premier 100 awards
ceremony, one of the highlights of Computerworld's annual Premier
100 IT Leadership Conference, to be held March 2-4, 2014, at the JW
Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa in Tucson, Arizona.
"I'm honored to be included on this year's Computerworld Premier
100 IT Leader list," said Koushik. "Technology innovation today is
the driving force behind business and market transformation, and
the Premier 100 includes an impressive group of executives who are
leading the way. I'm also proud of the tremendous team of creative
thinkers and technologists who have joined me at NTT i3 and made a
commitment to innovating the future."
A seasoned technology and IT executive, Koushik joined NTT i3
during its formation in 2013 with responsibility for creating and
leading a world-class applied research and development organization
in Silicon Valley. The institute is dedicated to developing
advanced technology solutions and services for the North American
and global markets that further the value, security and potential
of cloud infrastructures and applications for enterprises. It is
committed to open, cooperative innovation with U.S. technology
companies and start-ups at the convergence of cloud computing,
mobility, social networking and Big Data. The institute's
innovations are being brought to market through NTT's North
American operating companies, NTT America, NTT Data Americas, and
Dimension Data.
Prior to joining NTT, Koushik was president and CEO of Right
Brain Systems, a startup aimed at transforming enterprises using
cloud and mobile technologies. Before that, he was chief
development officer for HP Enterprise Services where he led the
Worldwide Strategic Enterprise Services business that focused on
cloud computing, enterprise mobility, social business and business
analytics. He also served as the CIO at Nationwide Insurance where
he led the company's transformation through the innovative and
practical use of technology. Earlier in his career he was managing
principal for e-business at IBM Global Services leading the
implementation of technology-enabled business solutions for clients
in the financial services, retail and manufacturing industries.
While at Nationwide, Koushik was recognized by Insurance and
Technology as an "Elite 8" CIO and by InfoWorld as one of the Top
25 CTOs of 2004. He was appointed an IBM Distinguished Engineer in
1998 and elected to the IBM Academy of Technology in 1999.
"The Premier 100 awards program, now in its 15th year, shines a
well-deserved spotlight on a group of talented, creative and
hard-working men and women. These IT executives are driving
technology innovation in business, education and government across
the country and around the world," said Scot Finnie, editor in
chief of Computerworld. "Technology advances quickly, and these
leaders excel at keeping pace with the changing needs of customers
and employees, and making fast technology decisions that map to
their organizations' top priorities. They have developed a deep
bench of talented IT staffers at their organizations and managed to
keep their own skills fresh by constantly mastering new
technologies and processes. We are privileged to recognize the
leadership and achievements of the 2014 Premier 100 honorees."
The Premier 100 program was created in 2000 to spotlight
individuals who have had a positive impact on their organizations
through technology. These are individuals who manage internal IT
organizations, mentor and motivate their IT teams and business
colleagues, create a positive work environment, envision innovative
solutions to business challenges and effectively manage and execute
IT strategies. Each year, 100 honorees are selected to receive this
life-time recognition award.
