Hungarian oil and gas company MOL Nyrt. (MOL.BU) plans to build a gas-fired power plant at the site of its Slovak unit Slovnaft a.s. (SLN.BS) in Bratislava, Hungarian business daily Napi Gazdasag reported Thursday.

The plant will have a capacity of 860 megawatts, similarl to the one MOL is building at its refinery in Hungary's Szazhalombatta as part of a joint venture with its Czech strategic partner CEZ AS (BAACEZ.PR). CEZ holds 7.3% of MOL.

The Slovakian plant is also planned to be built in cooperation with CEZ, Vilagi said.

MOL will complete the Slovakia-based plant somewhat later than the Hungary-based one, which is in turn expected to begin commercial operation in the first quarter of 2015, the Slovnaft CEO said.

MOL traded up 1.2% or HUF180 at HUF15,880 at 0945 GMT.
