The management of Quebecor Inc. was deeply saddened to learn of the
death of Jean Neveu during the night. At the time of his passing,
Mr. Neveu was serving as, among other things, Chairman of the Board
of Quebecor Inc. and of TVA Group Inc.
"Jean was one of the great builders of Quebecor," said Pierre
Karl Peladeau, President and Chief Executive Officer of Quebecor,
Quebecor Media and Sun Media Corporation. "All his friends knew him
as a man of tremendous integrity and forthrightness. One of a
handful of pioneers responsible for Quebecor's success, he was
still very much involved in developing strategy and advising senior
management. I thank him and I pay tribute, as my father would have
done in his day, to Jean's passion, loyalty and dedication to the
success of the Quebec institution that Quebecor has become during
the past 40 years of growth. His insight and flair, his legendary
efficiency and inborn business sense will be missed terribly. His
death is a loss for the entire Quebec business community."
"On behalf of my brothers and sisters and the entire Quebecor
family, Julie and I offer our heartfelt condolences to Jean's wife,
Doris Guerette Neveu, his children Marie-Josee, Louis-Philippe and
Emilie, and his entire family. I can tell you we will all miss Jean
just as you will."
