MINExpo (Booth #723) - Gemcom Software International Inc.(TSX:GCM), the largest
global supplier of specialised mining productivity solutions, today announced
the release and immediate global availability of Gemcom MineSched(TM) 6.0, the
latest version of its scheduling software for surface and underground mines of
all sizes and types, improving productivity and profits beyond what could be
achieved by manual scheduling.

MineSched 6.0 marks a new generation of software, combining extensive
functionality with an innovative visual approach to long- and short-term
scheduling. MineSched presents users with a truly unique experience, allowing
them to interact with a scheduling canvas that represents workflows, resources
and equipment. Also included is a four step scheduling workflow that guides
users through the scheduling process. The system's innovative and interactive
visual setup of schedules with drag-and-drop functionality has been designed to
shorten build times, while its new scheduling dashboard enables quick access to
robust schedule visualisation and analysis.

"I have been working closely with the MineSched team to implement MineSched at
our current mine site. The range of features in MineSched enables us to quickly
run multiple scenarios and better optimise our mine planning, scheduling and
reduce costs," said Ron Reid, mine planner for Bemax Resources Limited.

MineSched benefits include:

- Easier creation and comparison of scheduling scenarios that can be conducted
in a fraction of the time;

- The ability to more closely meet tonnage and grade requirements with quality
and material ratio targets;

- Lowering the cost of mining and processing through preparation of easy-to-mine
schedules; and

- Development of practical schedules by validating schedules with 3D animations,
built-in graphs, Microsoft Project(R) Gantt charts, and Microsoft(R) Excel(R)
outputs.

"Our objective with MineSched 6.0 was to redefine the scheduling experience for
surface and underground mining," said Eli Alston, Gemcom's product line manager,
scheduling and optimisation. "Traditional scheduling processes and software have
not fully empowered users by reflecting how they wish to work. Rather, they have
been presented with technology that results in too much time spent on simply
completing, but not developing the best, schedules. MineSched 6.0 endeavours to
change that."

Gemcom today also announced new versions of four other products: Gemcom
Surpac(TM) 6.1, Gemcom GEMS(TM) 6.2, Gemcom Minex(TM) 5.3 and Gemcom Whittle(TM)
4.2. Detailed information on each of these products announced today by Gemcom is
available on the Company's website at www.gemcomsoftware.com/news. For product
demonstrations, visit Gemcom's booth at MINExpo, being held September 22-24,
2008 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas.
