Canada's 50 Best
Workplaces
TORONTO, April 10, 2014 /CNW/ - For the fourth
consecutive year, the Great Place to Work®
Institute has named Corby Spirit and Wine one of the "50 Best
Workplaces in Canada." The list appeared today in a special
national report in The Globe and Mail. This
year, Corby has attained a rank of #22 on the list, rising 15
places since last year's awards.
This Great Place to Work (GPTW) win comes on the heels of
Corby's first-time recognition as one of Greater Toronto's Top 100 Employers in
2015.
"This past year marked a period of substantial change at Corby,
particularly in our commercial approach to the business," says
Patrick O'Driscoll, CEO. "Despite a
year of disruption, it's especially gratifying to see that we have
been able to significantly improve engagement among our employees.
This big win is a true testament to their spirit, dedication, and

Corby's scores from the Great Place to Work anonymous employee
survey showed improvement across all five of the Institute's trust
dimensions: Pride, Credibility, Respect, Camaraderie and Fairness.
The company's overall Trust Index measure has increased by +4%
since last year.

significantly more engaged than ever, have more confidence in the
company than ever, and are more proud to work at Corby than ever

Corby's Corporate Social Responsibility practices are a significant
source of pride among employees. As a leading marketer of spirits
and wine, the company is committed to raising awareness about
responsible consumption. Corby partners annually with the Toronto
Transit Commission (TTC) to sponsor the fare for everyone in the
city on New Year's Eve, ensuring that
no one has an excuse to drink and drive.
Building a Culture of Recognition
Corby created an internal recognition program called I Thank which
was launched on its Enterprise Social Networking platform, Pernod
Ricard Chatter. Utilizing gamification, employees are able to
publicly recognize their colleagues for their hard work and
achievements by sharing badges based on a set of strategic
capabilities. Once a year, Corby's CEO selects 5 "Gold Award"
winners who receive an extra week of vacation and a donation to
charity made in their name.
Fostering an "Intrapraneurial" Mindset
In a new twist on the company's annual conference tradition,
Corby's executive team decided to travel across the country,
"roadshow-style," to visit local employee groups in their
hometowns. Following an informal presentation on the plan for the
year ahead, employees were given their own opportunity to impact

ideas to top management in a "Dragon's Den" style – and the best
