Regulatory News: Alstom (Paris:ALS) announced today its agreement to acquire Power Systems Mfg (PSM), a subsidiary of Calpine Corporation. PSM, located in Florida, is a high tech company with a leading position as independent provider of improved gas-turbine parts and low-Nox upgrade solutions for gas turbines. This acquisition extends Alstoms technology leadership in providing customers with gas turbine efficiency upgrades, and low-emission solutions in after-market sales. Patrick Kron, Chairman and CEO of Alstom, declared: This deal will strengthen Alstoms position in the US market, where gas turbine service shows strong growth driven by increasing plant utilization and more stringent emission limits.
