VF Corporation (NYSE:VFC) has been named to Corporate
Responsibility (CR) Magazine’s 100 Best Corporate Citizens List
(2016), which recognizes U.S. public companies with standout
corporate responsibility performance.
“Our commitment at VF is to continually improve our business
performance as well as the world around us,” said Eric Wiseman,
VF’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “We are honored to be
recognized by CR Magazine for the work our associates are leading
across our global business platforms and brands to responsibly
manage our business.”
The 100 Best Corporate Citizens List documents 260 data points
of disclosure and performance measures – harvested from publicly
available information in seven categories: environment, climate
change, employee relations, human rights, governance, finance, and
philanthropy and community support.
“Congratulations to VF for placing on CR Magazine’s annual Best
Corporate Citizens list, the only ranking that doesn’t rely on
self-reporting,” said Elliot Clark, CEO of CR
Magazine and SharedXpertise. “Each year, we measure the most
transparent companies who report on their responsible practices.
Our goal is to advance corporate accountability and
responsibility.”
Sustainability and responsibility are not only tenets of VF’s
business practices, but also represent one the company’s core
business platforms. Recent corporate sustainability efforts at VF
include achieving a 5 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions
in 2015 (compared to 2009 levels), overseeing more than 1,500
community service events in 2015 and pledging to use 100 percent
