Highly anticipated community by The New Home
Company and Riverview Capital Investments will unveil 14 model
homes and community amenities during Grand Opening celebration set
for this weekend.
After years of thoughtful planning, design and development, The
New Home Company (“NEW HOME,” NYSE: NWHM) and Riverview Capital
Investments (RIVERVIEW) have announced the opening and launch of
residential sales at McKinley Village, the new urban master-planned
community located within the historic East Sacramento neighborhood
and close to Midtown and Downtown Sacramento. A large selection of
model homes as well as the community Clubhouse and pool, the first
neighborhood park and public art will be unveiled during a public
Grand Opening set for the weekend of September 10, 2016.
McKinley Village is a progressive urban village of 336 homes
co-developed by NEW HOME and RIVERVIEW, designed to foster
connectivity and healthy living with a wealth of parks, common
greens, public art and a wide array of homeowner amenities.
“We have worked extremely hard over the past several years to
get to this moment,” said Kevin Carson, Northern California
President for NEW HOME. “McKinley Village is unlike any other
community in the Sacramento area and it has truly been a rewarding
experience to contribute to such an innovative living concept that
will provide new housing opportunities in the heart of our region.
We’d like to thank the City of Sacramento, the residents of East
Sacramento and our development partners for helping us make this a
place that so many will be proud to call home.”
“We are excited to see the vision of McKinley Village become a
reality,” said Phil Angelides, President of RIVERVIEW. “We’ve been
committed to creating a high quality, sustainable 21st century
urban village close to jobs, schools, restaurants, shopping and
services. We’re proud to showcase all that McKinley Village has to
offer and look forward to it taking its place as the newest member
of Sacramento’s wonderful family of neighborhoods.”
Homes Planned with an Eye on the
Future
The five neighborhoods of McKinley Village will offer modern
design and conveniences that enhance quality of life and minimize
maintenance and repair associated with older alternatives in the
area.
Each residence is pre-wired for solar and electric vehicle
chargers with state of the art building standards that reflect the
best environmental practices. The community has been planned with
an eye on the future and how residents want to live in today’s
high-tech world.
During the Grand Opening weekend, interested home shoppers will
have the opportunity to tour 14 model homes in the following
McKinley Village neighborhoods:
- Birch | Cottage Greens | Up to 2,781
Sq. Ft. | Low $600,000s to High $600,000s
- Cottonwood | Park Homes | Up to 3,172

- Mulberry | Courtyards | Up to 2,007 Sq.

In mid-October, two additional model homes will debut in the
fifth McKinley Village enclave:

Sq. Ft. | Low $500,000s to Low $700,000s
Parks and Common Greens Abound in
McKinley Village
McKinley Village will showcase 10 thoughtfully designed urban
parks and landscaped common areas, as well as a planned community
garden. A wide array of pocket parks are spread out throughout the
village, some ideal for the kids to play and others perfect for
checking emails over a coffee.
“These green spaces ensure that life at McKinley Village is
enjoyed as much throughout our network of parks and open spaces as
it is inside each new contemporary residence,” said Carson. “In
addition, the community will feature biking and walking paths that
easily allow residents to explore the close by American River
Parkway and to have easy access to their workplace, local dining,
concert venues and more.”
McKinley Village Clubhouse is the
Social Hub
At the heart of the wealth of social amenities available to
residents is the McKinley Village Clubhouse and pool. This center
of recreation and wellness will provide homeowners the opportunity
to hold neighborhood gatherings or plan group social activities in
the Clubhouse, as well as practice yoga classes or exercise in the
gym. Summer family barbecues will include fun afternoons spent
swimming in the McKinley Village pool, warming-up with sunset dips
in the spa, or introducing the kids to the joys of water activities
in the wading pool. And, while residents and their families enjoy
the Clubhouse, they can re-charge their electric vehicles at the
public EV chargers adjacent to the facility.
Life Surrounded by Public
Art
Those who stroll through the neighborhood will find inspiration
from the nine public art installations, eight of which were
designed and crafted specifically for McKinley Village by artists
from the Sacramento region. The McKinley Village Art Walk will be a
unique display of public art within a residential setting,
providing an immediate point of differentiation for the
neighborhood as well as drawing interest from around the Sacramento
region.
By opening day, two of the art installations, both within the
newly completed Alan and Helen Post Park, will be in place. These
include a sculpture entitled “La Feuille” (the leaf) by local
artist Marc Foster and an installation of five bronze sculptures by
Helen Post, in whose honor the first McKinley Village park has been
named. La Feuille will be anchored by two leaf-shaped structures
made of honed stainless steel standing approximately 18 and 15 feet
tall, with corten steel branches extending above and beneath the
ground in either direction. Building on Sacramento’s legacy as the
City of Trees and East Sacramento’s tree-lined streets, the
artwork, in the words of Foster, pays “homage to trees and, more
specifically, leaves.” McKinley Village is shaped like a giant leaf
and current plans call for the planting of more than 1,800 trees in
the neighborhood.
In addition to the nine outdoor public art works, McKinley
Village will feature the arts in other important and distinctive
ways. The new McKinley Village Way underpass at the entrance to the
neighborhood and the McKinley Village Clubhouse tower will be lit
with state-of-the-art, multi-color LED lights. McKinley Village
streets are named for respected local artists; the Clubhouse will
feature the work of local artist Charlotte Cooper; and the first
two parks have been named for civic leaders with a passion for art
– Alan and Helen Post and former Mayor R. Burnett Miller. For more
