Holly Corp. (HOC) reported Monday that a fire damaged its crude
unit at its Artesia New Mexico plant over the weekend.
The fire was put out in one hour and the unit should be repaired
in about three weeks, the company said in a news release.
Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) said Monday it will restart a coker
unit at the East Plant of its Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery,
according to a state environmental regulatory filing.
BP PLC (BP) announced Thursday a $400 million project to upgrade
its Ohio refinery to be able to produce more gasoline.
Three older refinery units will be replaced with a 42,000
barrel-a-day reformer, according to a news release.
Construction will begin this year at the 160,000 barrel-a-day
plant located near Toledo, Ohio, which BP jointly owns with Husky
Energy Inc. (HSE.T). The work should be finished by 2012.
Alon USA Energy Inc. (ALJ) plans to restart Friday an alkylation
unit at Big Spring, Texas, which was damaged in an explosion in
February last year, it said in a filing.
Shell Oil plans to start maintenance Thursday at several
refining units in Deer Park, Texas, that will last for more than a
month, according to a regulatory filing.
Units that will be shut include a hydroprocessing unit, a coker,
a gasoil hydrotreating unit, a catalytic reformer and a platformer,
the company said in a filing to the Texas Commission on
Environmental Quality.
A key gasoline making unit at Citgo Petroleum Corp.'s Corpus
Christi, Texas refinery was restarted Tuesday after a rat caused a
power short, the company said in an regulatory filing.
Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) said Wednesday it will shut a
hydrocracker unit for maintenance at the East Plant of its Corpus
Christi, Texas, refinery, according to a state environmental
regulatory filing.
