September 29 2010 - 9:00AM
Business Wire
Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI):
What: As part of the Company’s continuing focus on open
innovation and fostering collaboration, Pitney Bowes’s Strategic
Technology and Innovation Center is hosting its inaugural
conference on Mobile Computing, featuring lectures and updates by a
panel of leading industry, research, and academic experts. Topics
will include upcoming changes in mobile devices, mobile networks,
and the use of mobile data. Topics will also address privacy and
security concerns in the new Mobile World, explore the implications
of mobility with respect to users and investigate potential
opportunities for businesses to leverage mobile marketing to
achieve desired business outcomes.
When: October, 7, 2010, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. EDT.
Why: Mobile technologies are disrupting the way that
businesses and customers communicate with one another. The
explosion of mobile technology has brought about indelible,
transformational changes upon people’s daily lives. According to
Gartner, worldwide mobile device sales to end users totaled 325.6
million units in the second quarter of 2010, a 13.8 percent
increase from the same period in 2009. In fact, more and more
objects are being embedded with sensors and thereby gaining the
ability to communicate. These radical changes will significantly
impact how businesses market their products and services, as well
as the way in which organizations engage with customers and they in
turn engage with theirs.
Who: Speakers for the day will include experts from:
Accenture; Bug Labs; Cigital; McKinsey; Mobile Marketing
Association; Nokia; Pitney Bowes; and Stanford University.
