CHARLOTTE, N.C., May 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Piedmont Natural
Gas (NYSE: PNY) today received approval from the Public Service
Commission of South Carolina for
three new energy efficiency programs in South Carolina. The programs are designed to
encourage energy efficiency for residential and commercial
customers. Details, eligibility requirements, contractor listings

The programs include:
- Equipment rebates of up to $300 for residential customers per qualifying
appliance for the purchase of high-efficiency natural gas
equipment
- Equipment rebates of up to $250 for commercial customers per qualifying
appliance for the purchase of high-efficiency natural gas
equipment
- Weatherization assistance of up to $3,500 for low-income residential customers
of Piedmont Natural Gas
Piedmont plans to engage
customers in an education program through online communications,
mailings and advertisements that promote energy education and
energy efficiency.

Business Development & Carbon Management Strategies,

Annual funding for all programs is limited and the availability
of weatherization assistance for qualifying customers is further
