Owens-Illinois Windsor, Colo., Plant Update TOLEDO, Ohio, Nov. 17
/PRNewswire/ -- Preliminary site preparation is scheduled to begin
this week at the Owens-Illinois, Inc., greenfield site near
Windsor, Colo., where the Company's new glass container
manufacturing plant will be built. Local contractors will be on
site to install an in-ground clay slurry wall that is necessary
preliminary work for construction to begin early next year when all
applicable permits are obtained. The Company plans to hold a public
groundbreaking at that time. The approximately 500,000-square-foot
facility is scheduled to start production in early 2005. The
Windsor site selection was announced in September after evaluating
several locations in Northeast Colorado and Southeast Wyoming. The
new high- productivity plant will produce 12-ounce beer bottles.
