Owens-Illinois Announces General Manager of China TOLEDO, Ohio,
Feb. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Owens-Illinois, Inc., (NYSE:OI)
today announced that Li Qing has been named general manager of
China, effective March 1. In this role, Mr. Qing will focus on key
global priorities in the areas of purchasing infrastructure;
machinery and mold production development; plastics strategy;
merger and acquisition studies and potential negotiations; glass
business growth-strategy development; and market, government and
joint venture partner relationship development. Mr. Qing will be
based in Hong Kong and his initial tasks will be to establish
contacts throughout all O-I businesses and functions that have
current and future potential to expand into the Chinese
marketplace. He will report to Peter J. Robinson, president of O-I
Asia Pacific Mr. Qing has more than 20 years of experience in
marketing and general management in the Chinese marketplace. Most
recently, he served as general manager, China business, for the
Hong Kong Airport Authority. "We are very pleased that Li Qing will
