Yum Brands Inc. on Thursday said it named Aaron Powell chief executive of its global Pizza Hut division, plucking the executive from Kimberly-Clark Corp.

Mr. Powell, 50 years old, takes the helm at Pizza Hut on Sept. 20 after serving as president of Kimberly-Clark's Asia-Pacific consumer business since March 2020.

Yum, the Louisville, Ky., parent of Pizza Hut, KFC and Taco Bell, earlier this year launched a search for a new Pizza Hut chief after Artie Starrs left to become CEO at Callaway Golf Co.'s Topgolf Entertainment unit.

Yum said Kevin Hochman, president and chief concept officer of KFC U.S. and interim president of Pizza Hut U.S., and Vipul Chawla, president of Pizza Hut international, will report to Mr. Powell.

Kimberly-Clark said Tristram Wilkinson, currently president of its Europe, Middle East and Africa consumer business, will succeed Mr. Powell as president of the Asia-Pacific business, taking responsibility for the Irving, Texas, company's largest international region. Kimberly-Clark said it plans to name a successor to Mr. Wilkinson in the EMEA post in the near future.
