Leone as the company's senior vice president and chief information officer, effective January 5, 2009. He replaces Karen Salem, who left the company earlier this month. In his new role, Leone will be responsible for Ingram Micro's worldwide information and business systems, ensuring a stable, effective platform for profitable growth. He will lead an information technology organization that supports hundreds of thousands of transactions per day through operations on five continents. Reporting to Greg Spierkel, chief executive officer, Ingram Micro Inc., Leone will become a member of the worldwide executive team and officer of the corporation. Leone has nearly 30 years of experience providing marketing and technology solutions for large global corporations. He was most recently senior vice president and chief information officer at Federal-Mogul Corporation of Southfield, Michigan, a global supplier of powertrain and safety technologies serving the automotive, industrial and worldwide after-markets with annual revenues of $7 billion. He served on the company's strategy board and led a global team of information professionals in 31 countries, directing information strategy, shared services and integration activities. Before joining Federal-Mogul, he was located in Italy as senior vice president and chief information officer for FIAT S.p.A, the leading Italian car company with more than $60 billion in sales. He also held executive positions in information systems for Dow Chemical Company and Union Carbide Corporation. Leone earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry and biology from Boston University and an MBA from Babson College in Wellesley, Mass. He plans to relocate to Southern California.
