Fortinet -- the pioneer and leading provider of unified threat
management (UTM) solutions -- today announced that it has been
named the 2008 Best New Vendor by Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), the
world's largest technology distributor. Ingram Micro selected
Fortinet for this Vendor Award of Excellence based on the company's
strong channel affinity and unwavering commitment to partner
enablement, which has since resulted in double-digit quarterly
revenue growth for Fortinet's integrated security solutions.
"Fortinet has had a banner year with Ingram Micro -- we hit the
ground running with a new channel partner program and have really
focused our efforts around partner enablement and recruitment,"
said Ken Bast, vice president of vendor management, Ingram Micro
U.S. "As the winner of Ingram Micro's 2008 Best New Vendor Award,
Fortinet joins an elite group of channel-friendly IT manufacturers
that are committed to delivering industry-leading technology to our
solution providers."
Fortinet began working with Ingram Micro in the fourth quarter
of 2007 to help strengthen its distribution channel and expand the
company's reseller base. According to Bast, demand and revenues for
Fortinet's integrated security appliances over the last year have
grown at a healthy, double-digit rate. In addition, Fortinet's
partner recruitment efforts have continued to soar as a result of
the companies' close collaboration in building a seamless
transition for existing partners and the immediate engagements to
recruit new partners.
"This has been an unparalleled year in Fortinet's channel
organization, and Ingram Micro has been instrumental in helping us
grow our partner base and strengthen our position in the high-end
enterprise market," said Mike Valentine, vice president of
America's Channel Sales for Fortinet. "Over the past year, Fortinet
has invested in marketing and market development resources with
Ingram Micro to ensure a successful launch. Together, we have been
able to streamline and expand Fortinet's channel sales distribution
model, and we look forward to continued successes in 2009 and
beyond."
Ingram Micro's Manufacturer Awards of Excellence recognize the
distributor's leading and emerging technology manufacturers and
software developers for outstanding IT channel performance and
partnership, as well as achievements against measurable objectives,
such as revenue, profitability, marketing programs, solution
provider support and services.
