New Ingram Micro Outlet / Recycle Services Make it Easier for
Solution Providers to 'Get Green' in 2007 by Recycling Cell Phones
and Printer and Fax Cartridges for Cash Credits SANTA ANA, Calif.,
Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Ingram Micro Inc., (NYSE:IM) today
announced it has expanded the Ingram Micro Outlet
(http://www.ingrammicro.com/outlet), originally introduced in April
2005, and is now offering U.S. solution providers free,
environmentally friendly recycling services for qualified cell
phones, as well as ink and laser printer and fax cartridges. The
new IT services offering, called Ingram Micro Outlet / Recycle, is
part of the worldwide IT distributor's ongoing efforts to preserve
the environment and further address the growing problem of e-waste.
"Recycling is an environmental responsibility the IT channel must
follow through on," says Justin Crotty, vice president, services,
Ingram Micro North America. "It is also a smart, simple and free
way for our solution providers to add more value in the eyes of
their customers and supplement their revenues by recycling the
technology they sell and service." The new Ingram Micro Outlet /
Recycle services are designed to help the IT channel "Get Green" in
2007. As part of this ongoing initiative, Ingram Micro solution
providers can also use the distributor's existing trade-in program,
called Refresh IT, to earn Ingram Micro cash credits for a variety
of used, working technology products. New Recycling Services are
Fast, Free and Easy to Use Like the Ingram Micro Outlet trade-in
program, the new recycling services are easy to use. The process
consists of four simple steps: 1. The solution provider registers
and logs in to the recycling site at
http://www.ingrammicro.com/outlet. (Solution provider must have an
Ingram Micro account number to receive a login ID.) 2. After a
quick verification process, recycling materials are sent to the
solution provider. 3. Empty containers are placed in a prepaid
collection box that is collected and returned to the Cartridge
Return Center for processing. Pallet pickup is also available. 4.
Eligible cartridges are processed at the Cartridge Return Center
and the corresponding credit is applied to the solution provider's
Ingram Micro account per the outlined terms and conditions. "The
Ingram Micro Outlet and new recycling services are turn-key and
require minimal, if any, investment on the part of the solution
provider," concludes Crotty. "By leveraging our scale and investing
time and resources up front, we've made it easy and even profitable
for our solution providers to help protect our environment and
recycle." Pricing and Availability Ingram Micro Outlet / Recycle
services are free to Ingram Micro solution providers in the U.S.
