Gateway Selected For Desktop, Notebook and Monitor Vendor for New York State Aggregate Purchase Contract IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Gateway, the nation's third-largest PC company, today was officially named the recipient for a purchase agreement providing business class desktops and notebooks, lightweight notebooks and display monitors to the New York state government as part of the New York State Aggregate PC Purchase. This six-month purchase agreement valued at an estimated $25 million is the second Aggregate PC Purchase conducted by New York this year and is anticipated to include as many as 21,000 units and save the State millions of dollars. The Gateway(R) M250 notebook will provide dual service to the state as both a business class and lightweight notebook, and Gateway's LCD and CRT displays were also secured in the 6 month purchase cycle. With the agreement now finalized, state agencies can now purchase from the approved Gateway systems. New York's non-executive agencies, constitutional officers, state universities, local governments and school districts also have the option to take advantage of the terms of the agreement from Gateway.
