Express Scripts Holding Co. named Wal-Mart Stores Inc. executive
Cathy Smith as its new chief financial officer, effective Feb.
10.
Ms. Smith has been executive vice president of strategy and
chief financial officer for Walmart International since 2010.
Her departure comes after Walmart International CEO Doug
McMillon in November was named Wal-Mart's chief executive. Walmart
International has more than 6,300 stores and more than 823,000
associates in 26 countries outside the U.S.
Before joining the big-box retailer, Ms. Smith was executive
vice president and finance chief for GameStop Corp., and previously
held financial roles in companies focused on aerospace and defense,
homebuilding and industrial tool manufacturing.
Express Scripts, a St. Louis-based company, manages drug-benefit
programs for health plans and corporate customers. It acquired
Medco Health Solutions in April 2012, creating the largest
pharmacy-benefit manager, or PBM.
