STOCKHOLM--Norwegian oil-and-gas industry service provider Aker Solutions ASA said Thursday it has been awarded a substantial contract from Equinor ASA for modifications on the Asgard B gas and condensate platform to enable increased production.

The company defines a substantial contract as being worth between 700 million and 1.2 billion Norwegian kroner ($82.5 million-$141.5 million).

Scope of the contract includes engineering, procurement, construction and installation of new equipment. Work starts immediately and is scheduled to be completed in 2024, it said.

Asgard B is a semisubmersible gas and condensate processing platform which is part of the Asgard field, on the Norwegian continental shelf.

The contract will be booked as order intake in the first quarter of 2021.
