Task joins Constellation NewEnergy as a member of its senior leadership team and has responsibility for leading and managing the company's Texas business, which supplies more than 4,000 megawatts of competitive electricity to commercial and industrial customers in the state. Task began his 13-year career in the energy sector at the U.S. Department of Energy, where he served as special assistant to the Assistant Secretary for Policy. He also served as principal staff to the Secretarial Privatization Working Group, where he analyzed emerging markets and initiated a private sector recruiting process for international trade missions. In 1996, Task joined the private sector as senior attorney for Reliant Energy, providing legal counsel for long-term electric energy origination transactions and serving as counsel for large-scale electric generation acquisitions. In 2001, he joined Dynegy Marketing & Trade as lead counsel for Dynegy retail/commercial, industrial sales and marketing operations. Most recently, Task held the position of vice president and general counsel of Suez Energy Resources, overseeing the negotiation of energy transactions, regulatory compliance, and participated as a member of the senior management team. Task holds a law degree from South Texas College of Law and a Bachelor's degree in government from the University of Texas. He is a member of professional organizations such as the State Bar of Texas and Oklahoma Bar Association.
