BALTIMORE, Feb. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Constellation Energy (NYSE:CEG) announced that its subsidiary, Constellation Energy Projects & Services Group (CEPS), has named John Schaffer vice president of operations, and Tim Hestle general manager of the Nashville District Energy System (DES). In his new role, Schaffer directs all of CEPS' operations, including build-own-operate projects, day-to-day management of energy services and multiple central plants. He also is responsible for the preparation and implementation of department budgets and long-term capital improvement projects. Prior to this appointment, Schaffer served as general manager of the DES. Having been with the DES since 2002, he has been responsible for managing the Thermal Plant and the successful start-up, transition and operations of the new system. He has more than 30 years of experience in the energy services field, including more than six years with CEPS. Prior to joining CEPS, Schaffer served in a similar role at Trigen Energy Corporation. He continues to be located in Nashville. Hestle has been with the DES for more than 20 years, serving in a number of capacities, including as general manager at the Thermal Plant. Most recently, he served as operations manager for the new DES. In his new position, Hestle is responsible for all aspects of the new DES, including day- to-day operations, system reliability and customer service. He reports to Schaffer in his new role. Schaffer and Hestle have worked together closely since August of 2002 when CEPS was asked to manage the former Thermal Plant in Nashville and to construct the city's new DES plant. The Nashville DES provides steam and chilled water to approximately 40 buildings in downtown Nashville, including the State Capitol and other government buildings; the NFL's Tennessee Titans stadium; the Gaylord Entertainment Center, home of the NHL Nashville Predators; and a number of privately owned office buildings and hotels.
