Alltel, MobiTV Offer Wireless TV Service; Live TV Broadcasts Available on the New Motorola RAZR V3c

Alltel (NYSE: AT), owner and operator of the nation's largest
wireless network, and MobiTV, Inc., the global leader in mobile
television and digital radio services, will offer live television
broadcasts and made-for-mobile content to wireless customers
starting Monday. Customers can view the broadcasts initially on the
new Motorola RAZR V3c, and the service will be available on
additional handsets next month. "With MobiTV, the customer's
wireless phone becomes a portable TV that delivers the latest news,
weather and sports through Alltel's advanced digital network," said
Wade McGill, vice president of wireless product management from
Alltel. "We now offer mobile television to three of the nation's
top five wireless carriers, signifying yet another major milestone
for MobiTV and the wireless industry," said Paul Scanlan, COO and
co-founder from MobiTV. "The mobile television experience continues
to reach new levels through the evolution of the networks from 2.5
to 3G and handsets upgrades. Alltel will now be in a position to
deliver one of the best MobiTV experiences in the country!" Alltel
will offer 25 channels initially through the service, including ABC
News Now, CNBC, ESPN 3GTV, FOX Sports, MSNBC, The Weather Channel,
Discovery Channel, ToonWorld TV, Comedy Time, MAXX Sports, Fashion
TV and more. MobiTV is available for $9.99 a month and can be
downloaded through the Axcess Apps catalog on the Motorola RAZR
V3c. The service will be available on additional video-capable
handsets, including the Motorola V710 and Nokia 6255i, next month.
