Mohegan Sun Orders 1.5 Million Bally MoneyPieces(TM) Intelligent
Gaming Chips LAS VEGAS, Jan. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Bally
Gaming and Systems, a business unit of Alliance Gaming Corp.
(NYSE:AGI), announced today that its Bally Table Management Systems
(TMS) division has signed its largest contract to date, a
257-baccarat table deal with Galaxy Entertainment Group to install
Bally's advanced MPBacc(TM) technology in Macau. Already installed
at Galaxy's existing Waldo Casino, MPBacc provides a new level of
security for the rapidly expanding casino market in Macau. The new
order will result in 135 MPBacc intelligent tables at Grand Waldo
Casino, 75 at Rio Casino and 47 through an expansion of Galaxy's
baccarat table numbers in the near future. Both the Grand Waldo
Casino and the Rio Casino are scheduled to open in the first half
of this year. Upon complete installation, Bally TMS will have 313
MPBacc units in live operation at Galaxy casinos in Macau. "Bally
is committed to being a major player in Macau -- a table market
that is second to none in the world. We are pleased that Galaxy has
shown its confidence in our technology by confirming this order,"
said Richard Haddrill, CEO of Alliance Gaming. "The MPBacc optical
card recognition technology provides Galaxy with a new level of
accuracy and security. This proven operational solution will play a
vital role in the Macau market as it continues to grow." Commenting
on the agreement, Ciaran Carruthers, Senior Vice President of
Galaxy, said: "The security the Bally system provides has resulted
in a highly effective deterrent against game fraud and we think
players are aware that Galaxy casinos are now among the most secure
in the world." "We wanted to create a true system for our customers
-- a complete closed-loop tracking of the game play. We also
understood the importance of designing a product that would serve
as a platform to support future marketing and gaming requirements,"
said Rich Soltys, Senior Vice President of Bally TMS. "This meant a
networked system via our MP server that could report in real time
any security events directly to management. Our game logic, system
hardware and MP encrypted playing cards all have been designed to
provide the highest level in security, functionality and
reliability in safeguarding our customers' gaming operations." The
Bally TMS division has also been active in other markets and
