Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. This day of
programming will be dedicated to exploring the work and legacy of
the nation's first African American president. The symposium will
feature a diverse group of thought leaders, public intellectuals
and writers, including keynote speaker, scholar and author,

An exclusive reception for local influencers and young
professionals will take place at the members-only club, The
Gathering Spot, and will feature a discussion about Obama's support
of Historically Black Colleges and Universities, moderated by
author/political commentator, Marc Lamont
Hill. Guests will enjoy a special preview of Tell
Them We Are Rising: The Story of Black Colleges and
Universities and a Q+A with filmmaker, Stanley Nelson. The film which examines the
impact HBCUs have had on American history, culture, and national
identity will air nationally on the PBS series, Independent Lens in
early 2018.
