STEC Announces Availability of Next-Generation MACH2+ for the Embedded Systems Market
May 04 2011 - 10:30AM
STEC, Inc. (Nasdaq:STEC), a leading global provider of solid-state
drive (SSD) technologies and products, today announced the
availability of its 128MB – 16GB MACH2+ CompactFlash (CF) embedded
SSD, which are designed to deliver an advanced level of data
integrity, reliability and performance to the embedded systems
market.
"The MACH2+ embedded SSD is an important part of our storage
portfolio, providing a SSD solution with space-constrained
devices," said Manouch Moshayedi, STEC's Chairman and CEO. "These
cards are manufactured using the highest quality flash memory
components in conjunction with STEC's proprietary controller
technology. Because we control the end-to-end design and
manufacturing of our SSDs, the MACH2+ is ideally suited to deliver
the reliability required in embedded SSD applications."
The MACH2+ CF's unique characteristics allow it to perform
consistently across key embedded design benchmarks within a wide
array of space-constrained devices, including, ATMs, industrial
PCs, telecom systems, military vehicles and other
transaction-oriented devices. Through use of these CF cards, data
corruption is practically eliminated, reliably meeting the most
stringent mechanical, environmental and temperature requirements,
and with low latency times, it enhances performance in
data-intensive applications.
Additional features of the MACH2+ CF embedded SSD include:
- Proprietary controller technology optimized
through customized firmware, resulting in superior performance for
specific applications.
- Full data-path protection that practically
eliminates data corruption.
- Wear leveling protection that evenly
distributes program/erase operations across all blocks, prolonging
flash endurance.
