BOSSIER CITY, La., Sept. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. (NASDAQ:ISLE) today confirmed that Hurricane Katrina affected all of Isle's 1,150 team members on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The Isle of Capri Relief Fund, headed by a team of community leaders, team members and former Isle president Jack Gallaway in conjunction with the Gulf Coast Community Foundation, has been established with an initial $500,000 grant from the company. "Our top priority is taking care of our team members. On Monday and Tuesday we distributed payroll checks to a large portion of our Biloxi workforce. For hourly team members, payroll will continue for a minimum of 90 days and for salaried team members for a minimum of nine months. In addition, we have established the Isle of Capri Relief Fund to help bridge the gap between federal, state and local aid," said Tim Hinkley, president and chief operating officer. Team members can apply to the Isle of Capri Relief Fund for assistance with items not covered by federal, state and local aid. "At this point, the parameters for assistance are wide. For instance, a team member may need to replace all of his or her prescriptions and health insurance may not pay for duplicate medications. Or a team member may need assistance covering the cost of a building permit to rebuild his or her home. The Isle of Capri Relief Fund was put in place to meet this type of request," said Jack Gallaway. "We also hope to help team members that did not have any type of insurance coverage either home or health related."
