Leading semi-conductor solutions provider, QuickLogic Corporation (QUIK), recently launched a new Customer Use Board (CUB) system for ArcticLink III VX and BX devices.

The new system facilitates convenient evaluation and validation of the ArcticLink III VX and BX devices for customer platforms. These devices in turn, combine Visual Enhancement Engine (VEE) and Display Power Optimizer (DPO) technologies to solve design issues, such as poor picture quality and poor battery life for handheld devices like smartphones and tablets.

The CUB system is multi-functional in the sense that it supports many varieties of display interfaces like RGB or MIPI-DSI inputs, and RGB, MIPI-DSI, and/or LVDS outputs. The new system also permits designers to insert known-good boards into their model system to enable it to integrate itself into the display path. This in turn, will enable designers to assess the impact of VEE and DPO technologies at a much faster speed, thereby reducing the time required to advertise next-generation products.

Thus, apart from providing a simple prototyping and testing platform for smartphones and tablet designers, QuickLogic’s CUB system has also 100% open-design approach and are also cost-effective.

QuickLogic invents and establishes customer-friendly solutions for mobile and portable electronics OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and ODMs (Original Design Manufacturers) called Customer Specific Standard Products (CSSPs). The CSSP permits manufacturers to launch customer-tailored products which can be launched quickly and can also offer retailers longer shelf life.
