Focus Enhancements Adds QuickTime 720p 50 & 60 Support for Final Cut Pro Users With DR-HD100 Version 3.0
December 05 2007 - 6:30AM
Marketwired
CAMPBELL, CA , a worldwide leader in media management and Ultra
Wideband (UWB) wireless technology, today announced the upcoming
availability of the version 3.0 update for its popular DR-HD100
Portable DTE recorder. Among other enhancements, version 3.0
enables owners of JVC GY-HD200 and HD250 ProHD camcorders to record
720p 50 and 60 files directly to DR-HD100 in QuickTime format --
further streamlining the production process with the direct import
of files into Final Cut Pro version 6.0.2.
"Since the introduction of the JVC GY-HD200 and 250 series of
camcorders, we have been inundated with requests from users to
support their 720p 50 and 60 workflow within Final Cut Pro," said
Mark D'Addio, vice president of business development for Focus
Enhancements. "We are pleased that DR-HD100 version 3.0 makes this
possible."
"With the version 3.0 update from Focus Enhancements, the
DR-HD100 is able to provide the fastest and most efficient
professional HD 60p and 50p editing available today," states Craig
Yanagi, National Marketing Manager of Creation Products, JVC
Professional Products Company. "Our continuous close engineering
collaboration has resulted in the development of this revolutionary
high definition recording and editing workflow solution."
In addition to QuickTime 720p 50 & 60 support, DR-HD100
version 3.0 adds auto-reel functionality to help streamline the
production process by ensuring users can easily identify clips in
the editing system. With auto-reel, users can assign clips to
pre-named reel folders on disk. Once a reel has been selected, all
subsequent clips will automatically be placed in the same reel
until the user selects a new clip or disables the auto-reel
function.
"Currently, WXYZ-TV relies on 27 DR-HD100 recorders, along with
JVC GY-250 ProHD camcorders, for our standard definition electronic
news gathering," said Ray Thurber, Director of Engineering at
WXYZ-TV, a local ABC affiliate in Detroit, Michigan and part of the
Scripps Television Group. "With version 3.0, our crews will be able
to record in 720p 50 and 60, edit in Final Cut Pro, and then send
to our server for playout. Version 3.0 is the end-to-end workflow
solution that we've been waiting for, and we are excited about the
additional time savings it will bring to our HD production
process."
Version 3.0 will be available for $39 on the Focus Enhancements
website in the first half of January 2008. For more information,
