Endurance International Signs Letter to Support ECPA Reform

Endurance International Group (NASDAQ: EIGI), a leading cloud-based platform solutions provider helping small and medium-sized businesses succeed online, announced today that it has signed a letter to members of Congress to urge the passing of a clean Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA) reform bill this year. Endurance joins many other large Internet and technology companies in support of ECPA reform, which would provide equal protection for personal communications stored in the cloud.

The existing ECPA law was passed in 1986, and needs to be updated to reflect current communication needs.”

Endurance is advocating for ECPA reform to require a search warrant for government access to customer data stored on the cloud by third party service providers without exceptions for regulatory agencies. ECPA reform is crucial not only to protect privacy rights but also to support entrepreneurial opportunities online.
