HAIFA, Israel, June 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Elbit Systems Ltd.(NASDAQ:ESLT) (Elbit Systems) announced that Tallahassee Technologies Inc. (Talla-Tech), a wholly-owned U.S. subsidiary of Tadiran Communications Ltd., which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Elbit Systems, has received purchase orders from the United States Marine Corps (USMC) for rugged computers valued at approximately $18.5M. The USMC has a requirement for a small hand-held computer which provides situational awareness to the dismounted Marine and has chosen the Talla-Tech Rugged Personal Digital Assistant (RPDA-57) to meet that requirement. The RPDA-57 is the latest addition in a long line of Talla-Tech rugged computers. Talla-Tech, along with Tadiran Communications Ltd., has supplied rugged computers to the U.S. Marine Corps since 1998 in both mounted and dismounted configurations. The RPDA-57 is a rugged hand-held computer based on both the Microsoft Windows CE and Microsoft Windows Mobile operating system. About Elbit Systems Ltd.
