Reference 2.0 is a powerful yet easy-to-use application that
enables video professionals to transcode video and audio streams
into various delivery formats required for Blu-ray Disc, DVD,
AVCHD, HDV, AVC-Intra, XDCAM, Adobe Flash, Apple iPod, Sony PSP,
and others. MainConcept Reference contains "pre-sets" for many
popular formats to avoid the guesswork of picking the proper output
format, and can even capture and encode video from various sources
such as SDI capture cards.
The new version also includes a command-line interface for
transcoding jobs, and the transcoder now contains support for
subtitles, as well as Dolby® Digital Professional and Dolby Digital
Plus Pro audio formats for high-level production environments.
Additionally, the latest versions of MainConcept Codecs are
implemented into the software, ensuring the highest quality, as
well as the most compatible encoding results for numerous devices
and standards.
New key features of Reference 2.0:
- Capture from analog and digital sources, e.g. SDI devices
- Subtitle rendering support for *.srt and *.sub files
- Command-line interface for preset based transcoding, e.g. on a
server (including capturing support)
- Multi-stream support to create ready-to-use broadcast transport
streams with flexible PID configuration
Reference 2.0 can be used as an end-user encoding application,
and serves as the perfect tool for MainConcept SDK customers who
want a quick and easy way to evaluate video quality, encoding
speeds or system performance. Developers can use the software to
define most suitable encoder settings for the renowned MainConcept
Codec SDK as well - a cost effective, ready-to-use implementation
for their own software solutions.
MainConcept's Reference 2.0 is unique in that it creates an
ecosystem for MainConcept codec plug-ins. The application is
provided as a free download and contains all the available
MainConcept Codec plug-ins, fully functional, in demo mode (demo
rendered output video contains a watermark). Users can
purchase the full version Codec plug-ins from the MainConcept web
store, providing maximum flexibility and affordability.
"Reference 2.0 provides a powerful, comprehensive and
budget-friendly transcoding solution for prosumers and video
professionals with support for all predominant industry standards,"
said Muzaffer Beygirci, Managing Director of MainConcept. "In
